Aimée Kopp. Acrylic and Mixed Media.

I am a mixed media artist for My Colours, a jewellery designer and manufacturer for Raw Nature Jewellery, and a full-time wife and momma of four beautiful children.

When I set out to create a work of art my intent and hope is to invoke an emotional response in the viewer; a small glimpse into how I felt while creating it. I love rich tactile surfaces and bright colours. I enjoy the challenge of problem solving, having to find new opportunities in the frequent detours and mistakes that occur in the process. I am always striving to find a balance between neutrals and vibrant tones as well as obnoxious texture and areas where the eye can rest. I am never fully satisfied after creating a piece and am driven constantly to finding myself on the other side of my best work.

Join me for Paint Night. "Why paint?"
For me, that is like saying, "Why breathe?"

But seriously...

• Creativity is what makes us human
• Express yourself without words
• Reflect the beauty of nature
• Depict reality and ideals (how it is; how you want it to be)
• Art moves people
• It inspires, incites new questions, provokes curiosity,
  excitement, and even outrage
• Think from your heart – big, revolutionary, visionary ideas

• Learn something new

• Art has been around for as long as humans have existed

OR ... Simply because it's relaxing and FUN!

I’d like to bring back some much needed criticism in the arts. I've heard about 237 too many times,
”Art is just so subjective.” Yes, true, but it’s also like music; you can enjoy different styles and still cringe when something is off tune.

"The indispensability, the vital function of the arts in mans' life, consists above all in this: that through them contemplation of the created world is kept active and alive."      ~ Joseph Pieper
